Mental Skills Training & Techniques

Mental Skills Training Curriculum: My mental skills training (MST) curriculum consists of a 10-part document that outlines mental skills training techniques and interventions to address a variety of scenarios within a sporting context including skills such as the use of self-talk, visualization, managing distractions, and how to manage performance setbacks and errors.  This foundational document serves as my template for developing MST skills and techniques and how to implement these skills in real-life scenarios.

Individualized PACE Program: After revisiting this plan’s methodology in a recorded discussion with an athlete I realized how much PACE planning incorporates MST skills and techniques and how user-friendly and approachable it can be for athletes.  Using perception, activation, concentration, and execution skills and asking open-ended questions regarding each of these concepts, the practitioner can co-create a plan of action for pre-, during-, and post-competition best performance outcomes.  This document serves as a template for initial interactions with new clients and athletes as well as a great introduction to sports and performance psychology work and MST skills training.
