I have been involved professionally in fitness, wellness, and sport for over 25 years. I am a long-time group fitness instructor, personal trainer, health coach, and owner/founder of Motivate Colorado, a sport and performance mindset consultancy.
I am originally from Texas and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Colorado. I have Masters of Science and Doctorate of Education degrees in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Western States.
I was a former sponsored triathlete and a marathoner and adventure racer who grew up in the gymnastics and competitive cheerleading world. I love to ride my road bike, run on trails and compete in fitness competitions on occasion…all just for the fun of it these days!
My experience with sport and performance mindset work is varied and my understanding of techniques and development of skills has grown over the years. As a mental performance consultant and athlete, I have experimented with and utilized much of my education in my own training as well as with my business clients and athletes. The top six foundational mental skills that I believe are critical to elite performance are motivation, self-confidence, attentional control, arousal regulation, emotion regulation, and mindfulness.
I believe that performance psychology can reach everyone, in one way or another, as an aid to strive for their optimum potential.
